　　(China Enterprise News, Beijing) A grand celebration was held in Beijing from Dec. 8 to 10, 2006. The China Innovative People & Enterprise Celebration had many national officials attend the ceremony in the People’s Great Hall.
　　The annual award ceremony of the China Innovative People and Enterprises has been successfully held for five years and is now in its 6th year. It is sponsored by China Marketing Society and China Enterprise News. It receives great support from various departments of the national government. It has drawn broad coverage and responses from the society, inspired innovative passion among entrepreneurs, and made significant contributions to enterprise innovation in China.
　　The sponsors have set the following goals: to further implement the spirit of “promoting self-innovation capability and building an innovative country” as guided by the Central Committee of the Communist Party; to strengthen the principal position of the enterprise in self-innovation and the key role of entrepreneurs; to promote the enterprises’ self-innovation system construction and to make an overall exhibition of the development of innovation achievements; to spread and commend the advanced records and outstanding people with significant innovative accomplishments; to help set up a healthy communication platform and atmosphere for enterprise innovation, as well as to help with the rise of China’s enterprises in the era of economic globalization.
　　The awards program is open to enterprises and entrepreneurs in China. The methods of nomination are by the sponsor committee or voluntary application. The committee consists of invited scholars and well-known persons from the China National Development and Reform Committee, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Management Commission of the China State Council, the Research Office of the China State Council, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the China Enterprise Confederation, and Beijing University, etc. According to the principal of “being scientific, fair and justice,” the committee has selected “China 10 Most Outstanding People for Innovation,” “China 20 Most Innovative Enterprises” and “China 100 Outstanding Innovative People among Enterprises”.
　　Other activities include an enterprise innovation ceremony, declarations of enterprise innovation, meetings and seminars. Well-known scholars, leading entrepreneurs and news reporters are invited to further discuss the present and the future of enterprise development in China.
